The following instructions may be helpful when preparing for your upcoming surgery. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any last minute questions. We can be reached at 215-953-1717 during regular office hours.
In order to evaluate your progress and healing, we will see you for post-operative checks during the first 6-8 weeks. In most cases, after surgery we will also look forward to seeing you back for regular periodontal supportive care.
Please alert the office to any allergies or adverse reactions you've had to previous antibiotic use. You will be prescribed an antibiotic if our doctor determines it to be necessary. Take as directed until gone. It is advisable not to take these medications on an empty stomach unless directed otherwise, as nausea may result. For women taking birth control pills, be advised that antibiotics may interfere with their effectiveness.
If you intend to use an oral sedative to relax you before surgery, you must have a ride to and from the office.
When preparing a post-op menu, softer, easily chewable foods are recommended. Sample suggestions, which fall within your dietary guidelines may include:
